An-Najah Participates in Academia Syria Exhibition for Higher Education.
For the second year, An-Najah participated in the International Exhibition for Higher Education and Academia in Aleppo, Syria. The exhibition which was held between 21-23rd November, was organized by the ND Group for exhibitions. More than forty-five international universities from different parts of the world participated in the exhibition.
The exhibition was opened by Dr. Muhamad Aqil, President of Aleppo University representing the Syrian Minister of Higher Education. Dr Aqil expressed his appreciation for the participation of An-Najah National University in spite of the difficult conditions Palestinian institutions face.
Mr. Saed Abu Hijleh, Director of the Public Relations Department highlighted the importance of communication between Arab universities and Palestinians in order to break the imposed siege against Palestinian people that prevent Palestinians from enjoying freedom and the right to education. He presented the University plaque to the Syrian Minister as well as some Palestinian folk art embroideries.
Many associations, schools and university delegations visited An-Najah corner to ask questions about the university and conditions in Palestine. An-Najah participates in such events in order to maintain its relationships with Arab and international associations working in the field of education, training and recruitment. An-Najah also uses this as an opportunity to increase awareness of Palestine and the plight of the Palestinian people.
The university delegation distributed brochures, CDs, books, research papers, guide books and documentaries about the university, its faculties and scientific centres. A discussion headed by the An-Najah delegation focussed on the future cooperation in the fields of academic and scientific exchange. Workshops were also conducted by the other universities. At the end of the exhibition activities, Mr.Hasan Nahas, Head of the ND Group, the organizing hosting company, presented plaques to the participating universities. Mr. Saed Abu Hijeh reciprocated by giving the University plaque in return.
