The University participated in a training course in Jakarta, Indonesia under the title" a training course for the Palestinian mechanic engineer in drawing and designing tubes networks".   The course was conducted in cooperation between the Palestinian Ministry of Planning and the Indonesian government.  Thirteen Palestinian engineers participated in the course, including two from An-Najah University, in addition to engineers from the Palestinian Water Authority, Palestine's Chamber of Commerce, Bir Zeit University, Engineering Union, Palestine Polytechnic University, Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Labor. Eng. Shukri Ghalayeni, and Eng. Ihab Surakji, from the Faculty of Engineering, represented the University.

The participants noted that the course included many subjects regarding public constructions engineering, water treatment technology and many other engineering subjects. Field visits to several establishments were organized during the course period.
