Under the patronage of the Palestinian Ministry of Culture and in celebration of Al-Quds Capital of Arab Culture 2009, a cultural meeting was organized at An Najah National University in cooperation with the Women's Affairs Technical Committee and Ugarit Cultural Center.
Participated in the event were a number of female writers, poets and artists from inside and outside Palestine.
In the meeting Dr. Adel Al-Osta from the Department of Arabic language and Literature introduced Salma Al-Jauisi, a famous Arab writer.
A number of Palestinian female writers had also participated and introduced their literary works.Dr. Khalil Odeh, Faculty of Arts Dean, pointed out that this activity is important for the students of the faculty in order to familiarize themselves with Palestinian female artists and Palestinian literary work.
The event discussing the idea of creative women and the issues related to women in general was followed by positive feedback and dialogue between the students and the guests.
The meeting was concluded with a tour in the University campus and the old city of Nablus.
