An-Najah National University has obtained accreditation from the Commission of Accreditation and Quality to launch a BSc programme in “Medical Radiography”.

Professor Maher Natsheh, Acting President of An-Najah, congratulated the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, for the inauguration of the programme, indicating that An-Najah will continue to provide high quality education for the people of Palestine, through providing the specialties needed in the local, regional and international markets.

Prof. Natsheh added that he hopes this programme will contribute to the refinement of the medical sector in Palestine, and invited secondary school students who are interested to visit the University or its website where all the information is available.

Professor Waleed Aj’aj, Head of the Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at An-Najah Training Hospital, and Director of Medical Radiology, emphasised the significance of obtaining this accreditation. He said the diagnosis of diseases nowadays requires modern, sophisticated machines to assure accurate results, and since the number of centres that offer medical radiography have increased, so has the need for an educated and well trained staff, ready to use the modern digitalised machines. Thus, the University’s ability to provide this speciality will greatly benefit the medical sector in Palestine.

Prof. Aj’aj also added that by providing this new programme, the University will save those who are interested in studying the money required to travel outside the country. He concluded by saying that An-Najah training hospital is in possession of the latest medical machines, in addition to highly qualified technical staff ready to teach the new programme.
