Professor Khalil Odeh, the dean of Faculty of Arts at the University participated in the international conference held at Philadelphia University in Jordan under the heading “ Culture of Change”. More than fifty researchers from foreign and Arab universities participated in the conference which took place in the period between 6^th and 8^th of November of 2012.

Dr. Odeh presented a paper entitled “ Linguistic colonization in media and its relation to Change and Security” in which he discussed the use of the political terms in Arabic media, and the submission of Arab audience to such terms endorsed by others. He also discussed how such political terms impose on the Arab audience’s thinking and lifestyle. The paper intrigued lots of inquires and questions.

At the end of the confernce, Dr. Odeh received a certificate of appreciation for his research. Dr Odeh also took part in putting forward the confernce’s recommendations, and it was agreed that the next confernce be entitled “Culture of Development”
