An-Najah National University Gains the First Ranks in the IAS 48th Annual Meeting
An-Najah National University Department of Industry Engineering female students- HalaBarham, the Head of the Industry Applications Society (IAS) at An-Najah University, and Nazik Zaid, one of the active members of the Society - participated and represented the IAS, An-Najah University branch, at the IAS 48th Annual Meeting, in the city of Orlando, U.SA., from 6 to 11/10/2013.

This is one of the most important opportunities through which communication channels can be created among the global branches of the IAS; in addition to the transfer of scientific expertise and knowledge, and the mechanisms of activating extracurricular activities inside and outside the University. Furthermore, the conference is a great chance to show the uniqueness of the University at all levels and ahead of its students’ labor. Representatives of the students’ branches worldwide participated in this conference, where these two female students were the only representatives of the University and the whole Middle East.
The conference included scientific and administrative meetings of the committees at the student and professional levels, lectures and scientific presentations of the developments in the field of industry applications in the world, workshops on engineering, as well as an acquaintance day that included presentations on countries and states participating in the conference.
An-Najah IAS participated in this conferencefor the first time. Hala and Nazik gave presentations on the achievements of An- Najah IAS during the past year; where they gained first place and was awarded the best participation out of all other countries, in terms of presentation and the rich content of activities and events during the last year, which illustrated the University IAS branch’s unrivaleduniqueness.

During the evening organized for the participants, Hala and Nazik presented a lecture on Palestine and the An-Najah University, and their presentation ranked second on the level of the participant countries through the vote on the best three cultural presentations. The Students’ presentationexcelled for they proved their capabilities in the presentation and interaction with the audience. The audience received all the attention and was amazed and impressed by the advanced level of the young women’s participation the role that Palestinian women play in practical life and leadership
The achievements were not limited to that only;Hala and Nazik received another two awards. The University IAS Group gained the second best electronic website award in terms of writing and reviewing news on the activities of the University IAS Group, in addition to an honor certificate for Outstanding Chapter in the shortest period of time, featuring the activities and events since the establishment of this branch. At the end of the closing ceremony, the President of IAS expressed his great appreciation of the skills of An-Najah University students and engineers, and the distinct role female students play in the group’s activities and voluntary work.

The participant students praised An-Najah University’s role, represented by the President in supporting these kinds of activities generally and an eagerness to build the students’ academic and practical personalities. Thanks were extended to Dr. AllamMousa, Deputy President for Planning, Development and Quality Assurance, and the Official of the IEEE in Palestine, who supported all the Group’s activities and events; Dr. AmerHmouz, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, for his encouragement and confidence in the students of the Faculty of Engineering and the achievementsthe University used to accomplish; and Dr. AyhamJa’roon, the Head of the Industrial Engineering Department, who didn’t hesitate to provide any support for the participant team, and was supportive to the IAS Group in all its stages since its establishment.
The students also expressed their happiness with the great efforts the Past Head Mr. Nour Ad-DeenMu’alla showed for the University branch of this level of glory and excellence.
