An-Najah Mourns Passing of Dr Najeh Jarar
16 October 2004
The staff and students of An-Najah National University mourn with great sadness the death of Dr. Najeh Jarar of the Arts Faculty.
Dr. Jarar was a great man and a patriotic person, well known for his passion for science. He was born in Jaba’a village near Jenin City and received his schooling there. He obtained his Bachelor in Social Sciences from Alexandria University and his Doctorate from Oxford University in the UK. During his studies he was a very effective ambassador for his country and carried the Palestinian cause with him wherever he went, explaining the Palestinian pain and suffering to people outside his country.
He filled many important positions before becoming a university professor in 1985. Between the years 1996-1998 Dr. Jarar contributed to the establishment of the Academic Program for the Study of Involuntary Migration, subsequently becoming its Director. In 1998 he was appointed Head of the Social Sciences Department in the Arts Faculty.
Once again, we extend our deepest condolences to Doctor Jarar’s family and we share our profound sense of loss with his students and colleagues.
