01 November 2009
Through its continuous endeavors to reach out to international institutions and to network at the regional and worldwide levels; An-Najah National University has become a member of the Anna Lindh Foundation.
The Anna Lindh Foundation is an organization to bring people together as a way to promote dialogue between cultures and respect for diversity. The Foundation leads regional initiatives in the Euro-Med and supports local activities carried out by organizations based across civil society which advocate for a better understanding among people, religions and beliefs, and champion human rights and democracy. The Foundation coordinates a Euro-Mediterranean Network gathering hundreds of social and institutional bodies which share the values of the Foundation and work to make dialogue, peace and prosperity possible in the region.
President Assistant for International & Strategic Affairs noted that this membership is one component of a wide scale plan to create links across the continents. President Assistant for Strategic and International Affairs was quoted as saying “We believe that academia is a cross linked meshwork and should not be confined to national borders, and also that academic institutions are important catalysts to social, political and welfare institutions.”
