On Wednesday, May 6, 2015, An-Najah hosted Dr. Stephen Morrison, Vice President at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and held a session on the non-communicable diseases NCDs. The session was held at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences' auditorium at An-Najah's New Campus.  

The title of Dr. Morrison's talk was “The Evolution of the International Debate on NCDs". He covered data on the growing burden, high-level action such as the 2011 UN General Assembly Special Session, and the subsequent generation of new indicators and mechanisms. He also covered the role and the expectations at the World Health Assembly in May and the Sustainable Development Goals that come into force at the end of 2015.

-          Dr. Stephen Morrison is senior vice president at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and director of its Global Health Policy Center. Dr. Morrison writes widely, has directed several high-level commissions, and is a frequent commentator on U.S. foreign policy, global health, Africa, and foreign assistance. He holds a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Wisconsin and is a magna cum laude graduate of Yale College.
