On  24 February an art exhibition for the Palestinian artist Mr. Atta Yamin, "the Harmony between Word and Image" was opened at the University.  An official launch event was held and many distinguished guests attended, including Prof. Rami Hamdallah, the University's President, Dr. Mahmoud Habash, Minister of Social Works, Dr. Jamal Muhesin,Governor of Nablus, Dr. Maher Natsheh, the University's vice president for academic affairs, and Dr. Nabil Alwai, the Director of the University's Public Relations Department.Mr. Yamin is a Palestinian artist born in the city of Nablus.  He joined the Arab University in Beirut and received a bachelor degree in Arabic language and he had a teaching career until March 1995.  Prof. Hamdallah said that, 'We are so pleased to welcome and host this art exhibition.  The University is highly interested in supporting cultural activities; and the University's participation in such art exhibitions is strongly connected to our mission to promote academic and cultural activities."
Some 34 pieces of exciting artwork will go on display at the University.  The art exhibition, organised by the University's Department of Public Relations and the Palestinian Ministry of Culture, will be held in the Main Library located at the University's Old Campus between Sunday 24/2 and Sunday 2/3, 2008.
