A delegation from An-Najah University visited Al-Manar University in Tunis from Jan 7^th -11^th. Invited by Dr. Abdelhafiz Al-Gharbi, President of Al-Manar University, An-Najah’s delegation was composed of Prof. Anwar Doudin, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Dr. Akram Daoud, Dean of the Faculty of Law, and Dr. Muhamad Al-Ahmad, An-Najah University representative for agreements with Tunisia.

An-Najah’s delegation met with Mr. Al-Munsef Bin Salem, Tunisian Minister of Higher Education and Research and Technology, the Tunisian ambassador to Palestine, Mr. Lutfi Al-Malloli, and President of Tunis University, Abderraouf Mahbouli. His Excellency the Minister welcomed the idea of opening new horizons for cooperation with An-Najah, in particular, through establishing a contact office for An-Najah in Tunisia.  

The University’s delegation also met with the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and members of the Scientific Faculty Council. An-Najah’s representatives and Al-Manar’s Dean and Council came to an agreement stipulating that a number of An-Najah’s physicians will continue their higher-education at hospitals in Tunisia. In addition to their work around Palestinian-Tunisian scientific exchange, An-Najah’s delegation also met with Directors of the Higher Institute of Media in Tunis and with the Dean of the Faculty of Law. In these meetings, An-Najah and Al-Manar representatives agreed that a number of An-Najah’s students would continue master and doctoral degrees at Al-Manar and that the two universities would exchange professors.    

During the visit, An-Najah delegates attended a working dinner with the Minister of Education, President of Al-Manar University, and several deans.

An-Najah University President, Dr. Rami Hamdallah, thanked the Tunisians for their hospitality in welcoming An-Najah’s delegation and for the constructive cooperation. He indicated that he hopes to develop further avenues of cooperation between An-Najah and Tunisian universities.
