On Tuesday 10 June An-Najah National University closed its 34^th Graduation Ceremonies.

Professor Maher Natsheh, Acting President of An-Najah, gave a welcoming speech, extending his greetings to the Palestinian leadership headed by President Mahmoud Abbas and HE Prime Minister Prof. Rami Hamdallah and congratulating them on ending Palestinian division and achieving unity.

Prof. Natsheh added that:

 “We are thrilled on this very special day of celebration; we are proud of you [graduates] and your University which always aspires to development and advancement. Each year An-Najah offers progress and innovation to meet community needs”.

He further stated that:

 “Next year (2014/ 2015), the University will offer 6 new academic programmes: Master’s degrees in Advanced Computing and in Electrical Power Engineering, Bachelor’s degrees in Medical Imaging, Networks and Information Security, and Athletic Training, and a minor in American Studies. There are other programmes waiting for accreditation from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education as well, in the framework of the evaluation programmes and websites.”

Furthermore, he talked about the University’s transformation from a small school to today’s fine institute of higher education, adding that the youth are the hope of a promising future.

Prof. Natsheh went on expressing his thanks to the Board of Trustees on their efforts, thanking as well the University staff, graduation committee, and University faculties and departments that have contributed and contribute to serving An-Najah. Finally, he congratulated the graduates and their parents, wishing them a bright future and a life filled with achievements.

Finally, Prof. Natsheh, vice presidents, deans and department heads handed the graduates their certificates.

-       The closing ceremony included the faculties of Law, Economics and Social Sciences, Media, Humanities and Shari’a.

-       The ceremonies were held under the patronage of President Mahmoud Abbas, and were attended by: Professor Maher Natsheh, Acting President of An-Najah National University; Dr. Mohammad Hanoun, Vice President for Administrative Affairs; Dr. Ali Habayeb, Vice President Assistant for Academic Affairs; Dr. Maher Abu Zant,  Vice President Assistant for Administrative Affairs; and president assistants, faculty deans, department heads, staff members of the faculties of graduation, with the participation of Choir of Deanship of Student Affairs.

-       The graduation ceremony was held at Hikmat Al-Masri Auditorium, New Campus.

-       Dr. Mousa Abu Dayeh, Dean of Student Affairs, moderated the graduation ceremony.

-
