The Center of Poisons Control and Drugs Information held yesterday a lecture titled “Poisoning Treatment.” The participants were doctors from the Arab Specialists Hospital and from other Hospitals in Nablus.  Dr. Samir Khayyat, Director of the hospital, opened the evening with a lecture on the importance of the issue of poisoning and the awareness of treatments methods.

Dr. Ansam Sawalheh, Director of the Center, gave a lecture about poisoning treatment in which she talked about the methods of treatment for poisoning depending on the way the poison enters the body (swallowing, smelling, inhaling, injection, etc).

Dr. Sawalheh also talked about the ways to find out the material causing poisoning through the symptoms that appear on the person, the smell produced by the poison itself, the medical history, anything in the place that indicates to the poisonous material, or any other methods to reveal it.

She talked about the Center and presented the services and activities organized by the Center, especially in the health sector. She also gave an analysis on the phone calls that the center receives, in terms of the poisonous material, the place of call and other standards.
