American Corner (Nablus) congratulates students for successfully completing the first ever First Aid Workshop at the University
On Wednesday 12 February the American Corner (Nablus) held a ceremony for students who successfully participated in First Aid workshops. The workshops, starting on the 12 January, lasted 4 days and consisted of 15 hours of training, instructed by Dr. Rayan Al-Ali, the Director of the Forensic Institute, were the first to be held at the University.
The ceremony was attended by Public Diplomacy Officer at the US Consulate, Mr. Jerome Sherman, Mrs. Dana Rassas, Cultural Affairs Assistant at the Consulate, Ms. Faten Abdul-Sabur, English language fellow at An-Najah, Dr. Rayan Al-Ali, and Mrs. Noujoud Salem, Secretary of the Board of Trustees.
The ceremony, where students were presented with certificates, also included entertainment with poems and break dancing performed by the American Corner volunteers. At the end of the ceremony Dr. Al-Ali was also thanked for his role as instructor of the course.
Notes:
The First Aid workshop course content followed the guidelines of the American Heart Association (BLS) and covered the basics of first aid, such as responding to medical and environmental emergencies, how to do CPR and other important skills.
