American Academic Delegation Visits An-Najah
On May 26th, an American academic delegation visit An-Najah University where it was received by Prof. Maher Abu Eid, University Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Sam Alfoqahaa, Director of the Public Relations Department at the University.
At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Abu Eid familiarized the guests with the University’s history, development and the most important academic programs that it offers to students. Moreover, he described the many challenges that face higher education in Palestine and said that the University was able to maintain its status as a leading educational institution locally, regionally and internationally despite these challenges.
Prof. Abu Eid also described the University’s future plans regarding PhD Degree programs in various study fields and the many cooperation agreements that it holds with different universities worldwide. A documentary film prepared by the Media Center at An-Najah was displayed during the meeting which summarized the University long journey, its developmental plans, academic programs and the role of its scientific centers in serving the Palestinian society.
The delegation also met with a number of professors and discussed a number of academic issues, the possible ways of enriching university curricula and the possibility to have joint research work between American and Palestinian universities.
Soon after the meeting, the delegation visited the New Campus where it was introduced to its various new facilities and building which the guests described as impressive and unique.
