The Faculty of Arts at An-Najah successfully concluded a training course in creative writing in which University students participated; the course was administered by Author, Ahlam Bsharat.

Attendees to the concluding ceremony included: Mrs. Siham Al-Barghouthi, Palestinian Minister of Culture, Prof. Rami Hamdallah, President of An-Najah, Dr. Maher Abu Zant, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Dr.  Mohammad Abu Alrob, Chair of the Department of Arabic Language and Media at the Arab American University in Jenin.

At the beginning of the ceremony, Dr. Abu Zant delivered a speech in which he welcomed Mrs. Al-Barghouthi and said An-Najah appreciates creativity and is always concerned with supporting creative individuals in various fields. By focusing on creativity and innovation, progress can be achieved and success is then possible. Dr. Abu Zant also congratulated the students and thanked Bsharat for her time and cooperation in the course.

Mrs. Al-Barghouthi thanked An-Najah University for hosting this course which is organized as part of the “Cultural Clusters” program and emphasized the continuous partnership between the Ministry of Culture and An-Najah in the different culture-related issues. She added that the Ministry seeks to embrace creative culture presented by the educated, creative Palestinians.  As Mrs. Al-Barghouthi explained, the Ministry has prepared a special program that includes holding a number of training courses in the field of creative writing in coordination with the Palestinian universities.

Bsharat thanked An-Najah and the Arab American universities for holding this course which focused on creative writing and its importance in the life of creative young people.

Bsharat is a Palestinian author and storyteller born in Tammoun Village in 1975. She holds a Master degree in Arabic Literature from An-Najah University and has published short stories as well as Common Messages which she co-authored with Fatima Al-Zahra’ Al-Rghaiwi from Morocco.
