On September 5th 2010, Abdullah Musmar, a student at the Computer Department of An-Najah Faculty of Engineering, finished a training program that was part of a visit to Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States. The training program was on computer engineering, simulations and power analysis of two-phase quasi-adiabatic circuits. Two months earlier, Musmar has joined a training program on power computation which was part of the Research Experience Building Project for University Students. The training program was supervised by Professor Baris Taskin, Assistant Professor of electrical and computer engineering at Drexel.

Musmar was the only non-American student to participate in the program among 35 American students from different universities in the US including Columbia University, Cornell University, North Carolina State University, University of Maryland, the University of Portland, in addition to some polytechnic colleges.

Dr. Nabil Dmaidi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at An-Najah, said that Musmar is one of the distinguished students at the Faculty and that his participation in such an important program widens his experience and opens new horizons for him. He also mentioned that Musmar has gained the admiration of his trainers which indicates the level of competency that An-Najah students have achieved. They are well capable of interacting with various engineers around the world and participate in different events effectively.

The training program at Drexel was supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF) in the United States. It took nearly ten weeks to be executed and came simultaneously with the practical engineering training that engineering students join every year at An-Najah.
