After his participation in the World Conference in Jordan, President Steve Buckley of the World Association of Community Radio Broadcasters, AMARC, visited the University for a meeting with the Public Relations staff and the Radio Station. Mr. Buckley was briefed on the latest developments concerning Israeli violations of the Palestinian right to education.
He had a thorough visit at the University Radio Station where he had the opportunity to meet with the station's staff. Mr. Buckley also met with the Director of the station, Mr. Ayman Al-Nimer as well as Muaz Shraydeh, both of whom were participants at the World Conference in Jordan. He was briefed on the programs the station offers to the local community as well as its efforts towards future projects.
Mr. Buckley was accompanied on a tour of the new campus of the university where he saw the new theatre and its facilities.
More than 350 community radio practitioners from 94 countries participated in the Ninth World Conference of Community Radio Broadcasters, at which they sent a strong message in favor of the development of community radio in the Middle East and North Africa.
