An-Najah National University, and in cooperation with Tempus Project of the Palestinian Ministry of Education, organized a lecture on the Bologna Process given by Dr. Nabil Alawi, an Assistant Professor at the University's Department of English.  The lecture took place at the Library's Conferences Room at the Old Campus.
The lecture aimed at introducing the audience to the changes that took place on higher education at European universities and new study mechanisms according to this system.  Dr. Alawi talked about the differences between United States study’s system of higher education in comparison to the Bologna Process.  The Process, as he said, is confined to 46 countries that joined the process, which is basically a reform movement that aims at the harmonization of education.
The lecturer handled several issues such as European Credit Transfer System "ECTs," mobility of education, quality insurance, contact hour System in USA, specialization vs. generalization, and the accreditation system. The lecture was attended by a number of lecturers at the University and a number of its students from different faculties.  The audience discussed the Bologna Process in comparison to the higher education system in Palestine.
