A delegation of INTEL Corporation visited An-Najah National University, and was received by Prof. Maher Natsheh, Vice President for Academic Affairs, President's Assistant for Strategic and International Relations, Dr. Raed Qadi, President's Assistant for Information Technology Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Abu Ja'afar, Dean of Graduate Studies Faculty, Prof. Hikmat Hilal from Chemistry Department, Dr. Ayman Hussein, Head of Department of Graduate Studies for Natural Sciences and members of academic staff with interest in Nano-Technology.

The two parties discussed the possibilities of supporting researches and thesis under joint supervision between An-Najah and CENA Center that is part of American Intel Corporation, that is located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.  Mechanism of students' participation in preparing their theses in CENA Center, Center of  Excellence in Nano- Manufacturing Applications. This project will give chances to exchange experiences among academics of An-Najah and CENA Center, where 60 students will be chosen from 22 universities competing for the supervision on MA & PhD Theses. Dr. Mkarem Hussein and Ms. Rula Habash represented Intel.

Dr. Hussein talked about the projects and its working method.  He also talked about accepting new students starting from September next year, where a student can prepare his or her thesis at the center then goes back to his or her university to discuss it.  Dr. Muhammad Abu Ja'afar, said that this project is encouraging and motivating for academics to more creativity through making use of the center for two weeks each semester, for following up and supervising students. He also pointed out that this project is the first of its kind in the Arab World, which will raise the level of scientific research.
