On October 12^th 2010, the International Youth Exchange Program (Zajel) of the Public Relations Department at the University organized a visit for a delegation from Zyara Organization in the United Kingdom during which the guests visited the University and were introduced to its academic structure and development.

 

The delegation was received by Mr. Ala Abu Dheer, Acting Director of the Public Relations Department at the University, who familiarized the members of the delegation with the academic development that the University has witnessed, its history and the many difficult conditions it went through over the last few decades.

He also spoke about the Right to Education campaign and the status of education in Palestine. He described the conditions that students experience in their quest to get the education they need. Zajel also organized a field visit to the Old City of Nablus where the delegation was introduced to the city's most ancient and historically significant sites and traditional buildings and locations.

 

Mr. Abu Dheer also explained the historical stages the city has experienced. The delegation also visited the Yafa Cultural Center where they met with the International Relations Director who described the social, health and educational conditions inside Balata Refugee Camp. The delegation also visited a number of villages and towns around Nablus where they met with the people and were familiarized with their life. The delegation was also introduced to the olive harvesting event in Palestine.
