On May 6^th 2010, a delegation from the University of Houston in Texas, United States visited An-Najah and met with Prof. Maher Abu Eid, Vice President for Academic Affairs. The delegation was headed by Dr. Gerald Strickland, Interim Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University of Houston.

Prof. Abu Eid welcomed the guests on behalf of An-Najah President, Prof. Rami Hamdallah and emphasized the University's commitment to reinforce contact and exchange with American universities and institutions in different fields. He also presented a description of An-Najah, the faculties it includes, the academic programs it offers, the various scientific centers it has in addition to other facilities and services it provides for the people and the society.

Furthermore, Prof. Abu Eid spoke about the importance of providing academic exchange programs with international universities so as to enable Palestinian graduates pursue their higher studies. In addition to this, Prof. Abu Eid spoke about An-Najah Teaching Hospital which will, upon completion, provide the local society with a wide range of services.

Dr. Strickland in turn described the various academic programs that are available at the American universities in general, and in the University of Houston in particular. He also described the different universities in the city of Houston in Texas, the variety of academic programs there, and the faculties it includes.

At the end of the meeting, the participants agreed on the importance of supporting and encouraging cooperation and academic exchange between An-Najah and Houston.
