A delegation from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) visited the Poison, Chemical and Biological Analysis Center at An-Najah University. The delegation included Dr. Sarah Donnelly from the UNODC, Mr. Khaled Rajab, Mary and Iman from CIDA.

The delegation met with Prof. Maher Abu Eid, Vice President for Academic Affairs at An-Najah, who familiarized them with the University, its development plans of the scientific centers, and the services that those centers offer to the Palestinian society.

Dr. Ansam Sawalha, Director of the Poison and Drug Information Unit, spoke about the Unit’s work and services, while Dr. Amjad spoke about the Poison, Chemical and Biological Analysis Center and the services it offers to protect the people and the surrounding environment.

Dr. Sarah spoke about the Forensic Medicine Services Project, its objectives and outcomes that will be invested in the development of forensic medicine services. After the meeting, the delegation visited the different facilities at the Center which they described as impressive. Dr. Amjad also introduced them to the development plans that the Center has set implement in the future.
