A Delegation from the UK Department for International Development Visits An-Najah
On June 21st, Prof. Rami Hamdallah, President of An-Najah National University, received a high delegation from the UK Department for International Development (DFID) head by Helen Winterton as well as the DFID staff. The meeting was held at the President’s office at the Old Campus; attendees included An-Najah President Assistant for Strategic and International Affairs and Dr. Sam Alfoqahaa, Director of the Public Relations Department.
At the beginning of the meeting Prof. Hamdallah welcomed Mrs. Winterton and the accompanying delegation and valued their interest to visit An-Najah University. He also presented a summary about the University, its history, development, the most important study fields it offers to students, the role its scientific centers play in serving the local society, and the leading role An-Najah plays in guiding the educational process in Palestine through producing highly qualified graduates in various fields.
Mrs. Winterton thanked the President for his efforts to serve the educational sector in Palestine and expressed her pleasure and impression by what she and her delegation saw at the University. She said the level of development that An-Najah has achieved over the last years is astonishing. A short documentary was displayed which described the University’s history and development.
During the meeting, Prof. Hamdallah discussed with the delegation the prospects of mutual academic cooperation. Following the meeting, the delegation visited the Media Center and the Faculty of Fine Arts art located at the New Campus where they were introduced to the various developments in architecture and facilities there.
