On November 10^th 2010, a delegation from the Palestinian Faculty Development Program (PFDP) at AMIDEAST (America-Mideast Educational and Training Services) visited the University. The delegation consisted of Dr. John Shumaker, Chief of Party at PFDP, Samar Abboushi, Education Program Manager at PFDP, as well as Jumana Dabis, Communications Coordinator at the Program.

 

The delegation was received by the University President, Prof. Rami Hamdallah, and Prof. Maher Abu Eid, Vice President for Academic Affairs. At the meeting, Prof. Hamdallah welcomed the guests at the University and valued the role that the AMIDEAST is carrying out to support the educational process in Palestine. He also emphasized the University's commitment to maintaining strong cooperation relationships with the AMIDEAST.

 

 

Such cooperation, Prof. Hamdallah stressed, will contribute to more development of the educational process in Palestine and will also provide students with more opportunities to obtain scholarships to study abroad.

 

Dr. Shumaker said that the delegation's visit to the University was of great importance since it focused on discussing joint cooperation in different academic and educational fields. He also pointed out that the Palestinian Education Development Program has chosen An-Najah to establish the Education Excellence Center which aims to develop the educational and academic process in Palestine as well as improving the performance of the academic human staff working at the different Palestinian universities.

 

After the meeting, the guests visited the New Campus and its different facilities which they described as evidence of a significant effort which led to outstanding achievements; they also expressed their admiration by the level of development the University has achieved over the last years.
