A Delegation from the Faculty of Medicine at the University Visits the United Kingdom

As part of the Palestinian Mental Health Program sponsored by the European Union and through the World Health Organization (WHO), a delegation from the Faculty of Medicine at the University visited the United Kingdom on March 25th 2010. The delegation visit targeted a number of British universities and medical institutions and was headed by Dr. Samar Ghazal Musmar Director of the Family Medicine Program at the University.
The visit aimed to introduce the delegation to the different medical potentials and capabilities that are available at the British universities and medical institutions. The delegation also visited Hertfordshire University which holds twinning relationships with An-Najah where they met with the Vice Chancellor, Professor Tim Wilson and the International Relations Officer. The delegation also met with the directors of mental health and higher studies programs at the Faculty of Medicine at Hertfordshire as well as a number of medical institutions that provide students with practical training.
Dr. Musmar said that the delegation discussed the possibility of conducting joint research projects between An-Najah and Hertfordshire in the different scientific and academic fields.
Another visit was organized to Anglia Ruskin University where the delegation discussed the possibility of establishing joint academic programs and research in the different medical fields. Dr. Musmar stated that Dr. Paul O'Halloran, WHO Regional Consultant for the Middle East is going to visit An-Najah and will be responsible for teaching Mental Health Master students at the University.
Dr. Allen Senivassen, Senior Lecturer from the Faculty of Health and Social Care at Anglia Ruskin is also planning to visit Palestine for the purpose of reinforcing collaboration and cooperation between the Palestinian and British universities.
