On August 1st 2010, in cooperation with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), 20 of An-Najah's staff specializing in the field of information technology participated in a training course that was organized at the Korea University of Technology and Education (KUT) in South Korea.

Dr. Khalid Barham, the Director of the Korean-Palestinian IT Institute of Excellence at An-Najah University and head of the delegation, mentioned that the course has lasted for about a month and addressed a collection of topics related to web securities, networks, webpage programming, and the future of the World Wide Web. Other topics included internal programming of electronic devices, information technology education in South Korea, work market, the development of employees in South Korea, economical evolution and interaction between cultures.

Dr. Barham added that the course also included a number of visits to a number of companies and institutions in the country such as Samsung Company, Hyundai Company, and Bosco Company for steel industry. Other visits were made to a future information technology laboratory, the Technology Transfer Institute, the future digital products exhibition as well as the computer lab at KUT.

During the visit, a welcoming ceremony in which Dr. Un-Ki Jeon, President of KUT, welcomed the delegation and expressed the KUT's happiness to have such cooperation with An-Najah University. He also hoped that cooperation between Palestine and South Korea would continue in the future through similar courses and exchange programs. On his part, Dr. Barham thanked Dr. Jeon for organizing the training course and expressed his gratitude to the efforts that the KUT and its staff have exerted to organize this event.

Dr. Barham stated that the course was organized as part of the cooperation agreement and coordination efforts between the KPITIE and KOICA which aim at supporting the KPITIE and the services it provides to the Palestinian society.
