As proof to An-Najah University’s strong will, unique achievements and determination to excel in various fields of knowledge on the local and international levels, Dr. Sa'ed Husni Zyoud, a delegate student from the University who was sent to pursue his higher education at the Malaysia University of Science and Technology, was granted the Best Research in Medical Sciences Award on his research “Identifying the Diagnostic Indicators of Poisoned Patients to Improve Clinical Care and to Identify Intervention Goals for Prevention, Early Diagnosis and Best Treatment”.

This Award is granted by the Malaysia University to graduate studies students on their distinguished performance in scientific research after passing through a committee of judges. The Award is granted to students studying in the fields of medical sciences, humanities and engineering.

During his PhD study, Dr. Zyoud has published more than 25 scientific researches in a number of specialized scientific journals in the field of medicine, pharmacy and poison in the United States and the United Kingdom. Those journals have a high Impact Coefficient which qualified Dr. Zyoud to receive the Award.

Dr. Zyoud’s research was nominated to be the best PhD dissertation at An-Najah University for the year 2012 since Dr. Zyoud was able to finish his study in three years during which he has published a substantial quantity of scientific research and work.

In addition to this, Dr. Zyoud’s wife, Dr. Samah Al-Jabi, was also nominated to receive the title of the Best PhD Dissertation at the Faculty of Pharmacy in the field of clinical pharmacy through the discussion of her research titled “The Impact of Multi-mechanism Preventive Drugs in Improving the Medical Condition of Acute Ischemic Stroke Patients and the Prediction of the Clinical Results”.

Prof. Rami Hamdallah, President of An-Najah, congratulated Dr. Zyoud on his excellence and success and wished him further achievements in his field of study. He also congratulated Dr. Al-Jabi on her achievement and hard work. Moreover, he pointed out the University has made great achievements through its delegated students to the various universities of the world.

Dr. Zyoud and Dr. Al-Jabi thanked the University for its continuous Support of researchers and delegated students.

The Malaysia University of Science and Technology is ranked among the first 50 universities in Asia and among the best 200 universities in the world in the field of medical sciences according to the times Higher Education QS World University Rankings.
