 In the context of partnership between Directorate of Education in Nablus and Faculty of Educational Sciences at An-Najah National University, and under the patronage of HE. Minister of Education and Higher Education, the First Educational Conference on Schools Administrations was held today at the University.

The conference comes as part of the University's endeavors to cooperate with all community institutions to develop qualified people in all various development arenas.The opening session was attended by Dr. Ali Habayb, Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs, Mr. Mohammad Abu Zayed, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Fayez Aqel, Dean of Faculty of Education at An-Najah, Mr. Sahar Akkob, Director of Education Directorate in Nablus, Mrs. Adla Ghanem, member of the University’s Board of Trustees, a number of directors of education departments including school’s principles.

Mr. Da’es Abu Kishik, principle of King Talal School in Nablus, announced the beginning of the conference thanking the University's Administration represented by Prof. Rami Hamdallah, the University President, for the facilitations and cooperation in order to make the conference a success.

Dr. Ali Habayb, in his remarks, welcomed the audience on behalf of Prof. Hamdallah stating the importance of the conference and the need to support it since education has an important role in developing the nation.

He also noted that the educational process is organically connected to social, political and economic organizations. He said that it is part of the public structure and has its dimensions which relate to the movement of the society.  He also mentioned that An-Najah National University has always recruited all efforts to focus on the quality of education, and the need to transfer education from the phase of memorizing to a trained mentality activity.

Mr. Abu Zayed thanked the University for holding the conference which is important for the educational process.

Mrs. Akkob, on her turn, said that the conference reflects the vision of the Ministry through the discussion of issues related to educational process and mainly schools administrations which are very critical to the development of the educational process in Palestine.

Mr. Mustafa Hashayka spoke on behalf of school principles.  He said that the conference is a product of the efforts and coordination between the workers in educational administrations and An-Najah University.

Several papers were discussed and some recommendations were issued including creating balance between the teacher’s share of education and extra curriculum activities accompanied with the need to connect with internet networks and motivating both teachers and schools principles.
