The agreement was signed between both parties based on the intention to join the "the Silk Road International Alliance of Architectural and Technological Universities" initiated by Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology in China. 

The MOU aims to promoting resource sharing and knowledge flow between An-Najah and Xi'an University in order to make greater theoretical innovations and tackle developmental challenges along the ancient Silk Road cities.

It also seeks to set effective coordination mechanisms between the two institutions in ‎terms of developing exchange program and expertise exchange for ‎students and staff in different fields including the field of artificial intelligence in urban planning and engineering.

As part of the MOU, both universities will encourage direct contact and cooperation within their departments, institutes and research centers to promote cooperation in the teaching, learning and research activities, and to deepen the understanding of the socio-economic environment of both institutions.

During the virtual ceremony, presidents from both universities gave a welcoming speech and showed gratitude for the other party.

At the end of the ceremony prof. Zaid and Prof. Shusheng signed the agreement at the same time and took a group photo.
