The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)’s “Leadership and Advocacy in Social Work and Health Care Professions” project was launched at An-Najah National University in the presence of German partners in person and Jordanian partners via Zoom platform over two days from April 10-11, 2022.


The project aims at launching new research projects in Palestine, Jordan and Germany that includes the participation of lecturers and students of each country in carrying out research studies aiming at developing research in the field of social work and healthcare. Moreover, the project aims at promoting knowledge and culture exchange between the participants through the student and research exchange programs offered by the project.

On the first day, Prof. Abdel Naser Zaid, An-Najah’s President met the German delegation at his office. He talked about the University’s academic achievements, international rankings, strategic plans, projects, community activities, scientific centers, and its newly accredited programs.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Abdulsalam Alkaiyat, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Mr. Raed Debiy, President's Assistant for Community Affairs,lll Dr. Samah Saleh, Instructor at the Social Work Department, and Mr. Bilal Salameh, Director of Community Service Center.

Guests in turn gave an overview about the project and its objectives. Research projects done by participants from the three countries were presented as well. The second day included discussions on the project’s future stages, and prospects for the development of the project. The participants also shared their thoughts about the importance of building cooperation projects and agreements among the participant universities.
