An-Najah Revives the Palestinian National Environment Day
Through the participation in a variety of environmental activities organized by the Colonization & Wall Resistance Commission and the Environment Quality Authority in Palestine, 130 students from An-Najah National University revived the Palestinian National Environment Day, which is celebrated annually in Palestine on March 5.
The activities included an eco-trail that was developed to discover, or rediscover the nature of Palestine and its fauna composed of numerous birds, its botanical diversity, or its agricultural estate with its vines and compost. The eco-trail also aimed at raising awareness among participants about the issue of waste pollution and its impact on the environment. The Environment Quality Authority’ staff explained to the participants how the Israeli disposal of its wastes is a clear violation of international laws related to environmental protection. The staff noted that the Israeli disposal of its wastes poses serious health and environmental risks for surrounding Palestinian communities.
