The Arab Network for ECD (ANECD), International Rescue Committee (IRC), Save the Children, UNICEF and the World Health Organization have been working together to support dissemination of the brief and country level action to advance nurturing care for children, particularly children living in humanitarian settings following the release of a thematic brief Nurturing care for children living in humanitarian settings.

The workshop aimed to push for the development of national programs for early childhood development that are in line with global development goals, advanced theories and frameworks in this field, as well as with the National Strategic Plan for Early Childhood and Early Intervention for the years 2018-2022.

It focused on discussing the most crucial national priorities to integrate them at the policies, programs and statistics levels.

The event included an overview of the nurturing care framework for ECD, and its global perspectives in humanitarian settings. It included discussions on how to strengthen available services for the youngest children to provide nurturing care across sectors and in humanitarian contexts. Also, a discussion about how to build ECD into humanitarian response planning, needs assessment, and monitoring. Additionally, it discussed the regional landscape of early childhood development.

The workshop resulted in developing a procedural plan that focuses on urgent priorities that will be responded to during the coming year with regard to nurturing care framework for ECD.
