An-Najah University Stands in Solidarity with the Lebanese People
On August, 9, 2020, the colors of the Lebanese flag lit up An-Najah National University in solidarity with the country following the deadly blast in Beirut. The flag was projected onto the walls of the University entrance.
The massive explosion rocked Lebanon's capital city on August 4, leaving scores of people dead and thousands wounded.
On behalf of the University administration, Dr. Nidal Dwaikat, Deputy President of Development Planning and Quality Assurance stressed on the importance of standing in solidarity with the Lebanese people. He also expressed his deep condolences to the victims, the injured and their families.
The stand was organized by An-Najah's PR Department where safety procedures were followed, and attended by Dr. Shaker Bitar, Vice President for Administrative Affairs, Dr. Abdel Khaliq Issa, Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Saida Affouneh, Dean of the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Teacher Training, Dr. Maen Ishtaiwi, Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, Dr. Basil Mansour, Director of An-Najah’s Staff Union, Mr. Iyad Bishawi, Member of An-Najah’s Staff Union, and Mrs. Faten Abu Zarour, Social Counselor at the Deanship of Student Affairs as well as the PR staff.
