Prof. Maher Al-Natsheh, An-Najah University's President, welcomed a delegation from the Consulate General of France in Jerusalem. The delegation, consisting of, Rémy Bouallegue, Deputy Consul General, and Gaëlle Bessonnat, Educational Cooperation Attaché. They were both keen to learn about the French Department's activities and discuss possible means of collaboration.


Prof. Al-Natsheh briefed the delegation on An-Najah's history, academic programs, research achievements, the international ranking positions the University currently holds, as well as the political challenges that face Higher Education Institutions in Palestine.

The visitors were quite impressed with the academic and research achievements of the University and emphasized the importance of developing student and academic exchange programs.

The meeting was also attended by Prof. Mohammad Al-Subu, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Wasim Bishawi, Head of the French Department, and the International Relations Office staff.

The delegation then met with students majoring in French and professors where they were introduced to the French Department's history, its extracurricular activities, and the Language Resources Center. The Department's students also presented an overview of their experiences at the Department and as participants in the French Consulate's different exchange programs.
