An-Najah Hosts the 4th Edition of the International Championship for Taekwondo Kick-Off in Palestine
On Friday, 1st of November, 2019, An-Najah National University hosted the competitions of the fourth edition of the International Championship for Taekwondo. The competitions lasted for three days until the 3rd of November, 2019.
472 registered in the championship, including 391 athletes and 81 administrative delegates, representing 19 different countries.
During the opening ceremony, Major General Jibril Al-Rajoub, Head of the Palestinian Olympic Committee, welcomed the participants in the fourth edition of this tournament. On behalf of the sports family, he expressed his happiness at this sporting event amid the unprecedented international presence hosted by An-Najah University, stressing the necessity of spreading such events in different Palestinian cities.
From his side, Professor Maher Al-Natsheh, President of An-Najah National University, confirmed that sports is considered among the university’s priorities, not only because it is considered an important factor for both physical and psychological health, but because it also contributes to building a healthy mind and body under the exceptional circumstances that Palestinians live in.
On his part, Professor Lee, President of World Taekwondo Asia, and Vice President of World Taekwondo, expressed his happiness for attending Palestine International Championship for Taekwondo, and commended on the efforts made by the organizing committee to make this tournament a success.
The tournament was concluded with honouring the hosting university as well as the winning participants, best trainers and best judges.
