The International Youth Exchange Program (Zajel) of the Public Relations Department at An-Najah has recently concluded the activities of its July international camp on students’ skills development.

The camp included six workshops on team work, English speaking skills, communication skills, French speaking skills, using Microsoft Excel for accounting, rail and airline ticket booking, writing CV, job interviews and writing motivation and cover letters.

The workshops were given to 130 students of An-Najah.

A number of international volunteers gave lectures on different topics such as the academic and educational journey in Palestine since 1967, the role of the International Committee of the Red Cross in providing humanitarian services in Palestine, the future of the Palestinian cause, the role of the Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) in promoting Palestinian farmers resistance and the role of the Animal Welfare Society in animal welfare and environment protection in Palestine.

The camp also included a series of field trips to introduce the international volunteers to Palestine’s history, culture and traditions. The volunteers visited Hebron, Bethlehem, Ramallah, Tulkarm, Nablus, Jericho and the Jordan Valley.

In Nablus they visited Balata Camp, Joseph's Tomb and the Samaritan village as well as other historical and religious sites. They were also given a tour of An-Najah's New Campus to learn about its faculties and programs.

The volunteers met with the Bedouins of ’Arab Ar-Rashaida and visited the Dead Sea, the Church of the Nativity, the Palestinian Heritage Center and the Apartheid Wall.

The volunteers in turn gave introductory presentations on social, cultural and political life in their homelands.
