An-Najah Hosts an Academic Delegation from Germany
On Sunday, February 17, 2019, Professor Maher Natsheh, Acting President of An-Najah welcomed Dr. Hisham Hammad and Dr. Knut Thedens from the City of Dortmund in Germany.
The visit focused on discussing means of mutual academic and research cooperation between An-Najah and Dortmund University Hospital in terms of developing exchange programmes and expertise exchange for students and staff in the field of health sciences. Both parties have agreed to develop academic relations and work towards developing an MOU in the near future.
Prof. Natsheh welcomed the delegation and commended the Palestinian Community's role in Germany in supporting Palestinian Universities at different academic and research levels.
He also talked about the political and financial obstacles that face higher education in Palestine as well as An-Najah's academic and research achievements. He added that the University is making great strides in world rankings despite the many challenges faced under Occupation.
Dr. Khalil Issa, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences at the University talked about An-Najah National University’s Hospital and updated the delegation on recent developments and activities of the Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences.
The delegation thanked An-Najah administration for their hospitality and stressed the importance of the mutual cooperation between the two parties.
At the end of their visit, the delegation was given a tour of the New Campus to learn more about its faculties and was impressed with the facilities as well as class curricula.
