An-Najah Completes the Intensive English Summer Debate Camp
An-Najah National University Debate Society (NNUDS) has recently completed its intensive Summer English Debate Camp with its Head Debate Coach, Mariel Golden. The Debate Camp introduced students to the components of British Parliamentary Debate through an intensive three week, 20 hour workshop.
Trainings incorporated activities, games and lectures to help develop argumentation, listening and presentation skills. By the conclusion of the training, trainees successfully completed full English British Parliamentary debates on a range of international topics related to human rights, freedom of choice, and governance.
The training programme was in preparation for the upcoming 2nd International Palestine Open Debate Championship which will be hosted by An-Najah on August 31st and September 1st, 2018.
As An-Najah Debate Society's (NNUDS) Head Debate Coach, Mariel Golden brings over six years of competitive debate experience. She is the former U.S. National Semi Finalist and North American Finalist and was a former Deputy Chief Adjudicator of the North American Women's Championship, Northeast Regional Championship, Huber Debates and Chief Organizer of the North American Women's Championship 2015.
