Organized by the International Islamic University in cooperation with the Association of Arab Universities (AARU), the event took place in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur with the participation of 69 presidents, directors and representatives of universities from Arab countries and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

Prof. Natsheh discussed a research paper on best practice guidelines for international classifications.

The conference discussed the challenges facing higher education, enhancing quality in this field, developing tools and mechanisms for measuring the performance of universities and benefiting from the experiments in this field between Arab and ASEAN universities.

The conference resulted in a number of recommendations, most important of which are adopting successful practices of measuring universities' performance, launching of university network that adopts an integrated tool project to measure universities performance in the Islamic world and signing agreements between universities and higher education institutions to enhance quality assurance and performance measurement.

Prof. Natsheh also signed a cooperation agreement with the International Islamic University Malaysia regarding student and staff exchange and joint research projects.
