On Thursday, September 14th, 2017, An-Najah National University hosted Mrs. Manal Zraiq, a Partner, General Director of Massar International, and a pioneering woman supporting and lobbying businesswomen development and advancement in Palestine.


Mrs. Zraiq met with Professor Maher Natsheh, Acting President of An-Najah along with Dr. Mohammed Al-Amleh, Vice President of Academic Affairs; Dr. Maher Abu Zant, Vice President of Administrative Affairs; Dr. Sami Kilani, President's Assistant for Community Affairs; Dr. Sameh Atout, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences; Mr. Rafe' Daraghmeh, Director of the Alumni Unit; Mrs. Nujoud Salem from the Board of Trustees Office and Mr. Khaled Mufleh, acting Director of the Public Relations Department at An-Najah.

At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Natsheh talked about the University history, students, programmes and academic achievements as well as the challenges that encounter higher education in Palestine. He stressed the importance of An-Najah collaboration with international universities and referred to the University endeavors to prepare the alumni to the labour market.

He also commended the Private Sector in Palestine for cooperating with the Palestinian universities to achieve mutual purposes.

In turn, Mrs. Zraiq praised An-Najah for having such an elite alumni who can challenges the political and financial obstacles to shape a bright future.

Following the meeting, An-Najah Alumni Unit in cooperation with the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences organized the Success Story Workshop through which Mrs. Zraiq talked about her professional experience and the challenges she faced through the journey of her career life.

During the workshop, Mr. Daraghmeh welcomed Mrs. Zraiq and talked briefly about the services the Alumni Unit offers. Dr. Abu Zant also thanked Mrs. Zraiq for being at An-Najah as he introduced her as a pioneering businesswomen. In turn, Dr. Atout talked about the importance of allowing the students to meet with prominent figures who can motivate them and offer them pieces of advice in regard to their career life.

At the end of the workshop Mrs. Zraiq answered the students' questions.

Notes:

  • It is worth mentioning that Mr. Zraiq won the Economic Empowerment Award of the Vital Voices Global Leadership Network.
  • The workshop took place at the Zafer Al-Masri Auditorium in the Old Campus and was also attended by a number of the University academic and administrative staff as well a large group of the University students.
  • Mrs. Zraiq was also given a tour of the New Campus and the Media Centre to see the media progression at An-Najah Broadcasting Chanel (NBC).
