The American Corner Nablus Hosts Pen Pal English Writing Exchange Project Students
On Thursday, May 25th, 2017, the American Corner Nablus of An-Najah’s International Office hosted a group of students from the UNRWA Girls School in Balata Camp who participated in a Pen Pal writing exchange project with a group of students from the Westgate Community School in Thornton, Colorado.
The Pen Pal project is a writing exchange programme that involves individual students from Palestine writing letters in English to individual students in the United States. The programme aims at promoting English language and writing skills while also increasing awareness and understanding of cultural diversity.
The students engaged in sports activities with the Physical Education Department under the supervision of Mr. Suleiman Al-Amad followed by a visit to the American Corner Nablus where they read their letters in English and discussed their experiences with the exchange programme.
Pen Pal project is part of the Boulder-Nablus Sister city project.
The schools were connected through the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Teacher Training at An-Najah.
