The aim of the exhibition was to demystify and break down negative stereotypes of the hijab for Western, non-Muslim audiences.  

The event was the result of surveys and interviews of Palestinian Muslim women compiled by An-Najah's English Language Fellow Ms Nancy Harcar with the help of Ms Jinan Qudous, an instructor in the Law Faculty. 

The exhibition included photos taken by Ms Basma Maali and a film documenting the interviews put together by film students.

The exhibition was attended by the U.S Consul General Dorothy Shea as well as other consulate officers in addition to the Coordinator of the Women's Studies Programme, Dr. Samah Saleh and An Najah's visiting Fulbright Scholar Professor Mahmoud Suleiman.
