On Tuesday, March 14th, 2017, An-Najah National University organized a student guidance meeting at the Korean Palestinian IT Institute of Excellence in the New Campus hosting 15 Palestinian universities and higher education institutions and received more than 2000 high school students of different local schools.


In his opening speech, Dr. Mohammad El-Amleh, Vice President for Academic Affairs welcomed the attendees and said that this meeting aims at introducing high school students to the participating universities’ faculties, academic programmes and registration procedures.

In turn, Dr. Azmi Balawneh, Head of the Directorate of Education in Nablus and representative of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education thanked An-Najah for the hospitality and pointed out that this event facilitates students’ transition from high school to college life. He added that the Ministry of Education is working on developing the academic programmes offered by institutions of higher education in Palestine.

Professor Maher Natsheh, Acting President of An-Najah visited the participating universities booths. He welcomed them and hoped that they will harvest the fruit of their efforts.

It is worth mentioning that the An-Najah’s Public Relations Department offers a school visit programme where the university daily hosts different Palestinian schools and gives them tours of the university campuses to introduce them to its faculties, facilities and academic programmes.

The Participating universities are: An-Najah National University (hosting university); Hebron University; Palestine Technical University – Kadoorie; the Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology; Palestine Polytechnic University; the Palestine Ahliya University College (PAUC); Dar Al-Kalima University College of Arts and Culture; the Palestine Technical College - Al Arroub; Birzeit University; the Modern University College; the Arab American University of Jenin; Al-Ummah College Technical Community; Al-Quds University and the Palestine Technical Colleges-Ramallah/Girls.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Ayman Houdali, Director of Students Affairs at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and a representing delegation from the ministry in addition to 150 schools from different parts of the West Bank.

Participating schools were also given a tour of the New Campus’ faculties.
