On Thursday, February 9th, 2017, the Arabic for Non-Native Speakers Institute at An-Najah organized a cultural activity on multicultural cuisine at the university cafeteria in the New Campus.


The activity aimed at developing the students’ social and linguistic knowledge, involving them in the Palestinian society and promoting cultural exchange.

The activity included preparing a number of Palestinian dishes by participating teachers and other meals by international students reflecting their cultures such as the English, Irish, Italian, German, Dutch, Korean, Indian and Afghan cultures.

The Institute also concluded a training workshop in collaboration with the Continuing Education Centre at the university on Saturday, February 11th, 2017.

The training workshop aimed at introducing the trainees to basic principles of teaching Arabic to non-natives, theories of teaching a second language and international reference frameworks for languages as well as other important topics.

It is worth mentioning that the trainees will be given certificates by the Continuing Education Centre at An-Najah signed and recognized by the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

The training workshop included 11 trainees and was supervised by Dr. Raed Abdulraheem, Director of the Institute.
