On Thursday, September 22nd, 2016, An-Najah National University held the “An-Najah Gathers Us” meeting to celebrate its alumni who graduated prior to 2000 at the Prince Turki Bin Abdul-Aziz Auditorium in the New Campus.


The ceremony was under the patronage of Professor Maher Natsheh, Acting President, the President’s Assistant for Social Affairs Office, the Alumni Unit and the Faculty of Fine Arts in cooperation with the Public Relations Department at the university.

The ceremony started with a recitation from the Holy Quran, then listening to the Palestinian National Anthem and the university anthem which was recited by An-Najah Chorus.

In his speech, Prof. Natsheh welcomed An-Najah alumni and talked about the progress made on the university over the years.  He explained that the university currently hosts more than 23,000 students, offers 136 academic programmes and has 5 campuses on different locations in addition to An-Najah National University Hospital.

He commended the university’s academic achievements and the political and financial challenges it encountered during its academic journey.  

He also referred to An-Najah Alumni Association established in 2006 which keeps in touch with the university alumni which has grown to 58,000 since 1977.

The ceremony included an exhibition for fine arts students’ artworks at the Faculty of Fine Arts Square.

It also included an exhibition that included photos of An-Najah alumni who graduated prior to 2000 as well as a number academic and cultural books produced by the university over the past years.

At the end, the alumni were given a tour of the New Campus to learn about its faculties and academic programmes.

Notes:

The meeting was also attended by the vice presidents and assistants; heads of academic and administrative departments and staff members in addition to other notable guests and attendees.
