On Thursday, July 28th, 2016, the Faculty of Law in cooperation with the EU Projects Coordinator Office at An-Najah held a round table discussion on intellectual property through the IP-MED, TEMPUS project: “Promoting Intellectual Property Law Studies in the Mediterranean Region”.

In the opening speech, Dr. Imad Ibrik, Coordinator of the EU Projects at An-Najah talked about the project which aims at establishing an MA programme in intellectual property at An-Najah and other Palestinian and Arab universities. He said that the discussion aims at getting public sectors in Palestine together to offer feedback on the new programme and introduce information and expertise to enrich the Web-Portal established by the project. The portal offers updates on intellectual property in Palestine and neighboring countries. He added that the programme will involve enrollees in the programme’s activities and activate their role in the Private Sector institutions.

The discussion also shed light on the linkage between intellectual property and the Palestinian Authority’s industry, commerce, economy and culture and its relation to medicine, pharmacy, engineering, science, agriculture, economy, arts and law.
