On Thursday, April 7th, 2016, the Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology concluded the Linux Professional Institute training workshop at the Cisco Academy.


The workshop was funded by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development Kuwait, as part of the unemployed graduates' rehabilitation project and consisted of 150 training hours.

The workshop was over three stages that included three courses; namely, Linux Essentials, Introduction to Linux 1 and Introduction to Linux 2: Shell Programming.

At the end, participating students were awarded certificates by Dr. Musaddaq Al-Masri, Director of An-Najah Centre for Training and Rehabilitation; Engineer Mahmoud Abu Kishek, Coordinator of the Arab Fund Project and both trainers Munif Qaffaf and Mohammad Zahlan.

Notes:

  • Linux is the software on a computer that enables applications and the computer operator to access the devices on the computer to perform desired functions.
  • The USAID funded project, Cisco Networking Academy was established in 2009 at the Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology. The academy offers training services as well as technical support for both trainers and students in terms of networks and maintenance services.
