On Monday, March 28th, 2016, the International Youth Foundation (IYF)* in cooperation with the Alumni Unit at An-Najah organized an introductory workshop on “My Chance” project, a project that aims at diminishing the increasing unemployment in the Arab World, at the Old Campus’s library’s conference room.


Mr. Rafi Daraghmeh, Director of the Alumni Unit welcomed the attendees and thanked the foundation for its consistent support for the university graduates through offering various programmes such as the “Ta3mal”* and the “Tamheed” programmes.

Dr. Ekrema Shhab, Head of the English Language Department thanked the foundation for offering job opportunities for the department’s graduates in the field of translation.

In his turn, Mr. Nedal Khar’aweyeh, Project Coordinator talked about the project’s importance and the application process. He also encouraged attending students to apply for 300 available jobs on translation and graphic design.

At the end of the workshop, the IYF representatives answered the students’ questions on the subject.

The workshop was also attended by Ms Manar Halabi, IYF Ambassador in the North of Palestine; Dr. Abdul-Khaliq Issa, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Dr. Sufian Abu Arrah, Lecturer at the English Language Department.

*The “My Chance” Programme aims at offering Palestinian graduates job opportunities inside the area and online.

*Ta3mal offers An-Najah students psychometric assessment tool, language assessments, IT trainings and assessments, e-learning courses and diplomas entrepreneurship learning and mentoring Job placement opportunities, volunteer coaches and mentors scholarship opportunities and events calendar with all relevant activities.
