A Dream that Came True

I, and my friend Tala Shilbaya, were chosen to participate in a three-week French Language Workshop in Bordeaux, France. I had the opportunity to travel to Europe for the first time.

In three weeks, I met people from different nationalities whom I communicated with using French language. We had 20 hours of French classes a week which really helped me improve my language skills quickly.
The Alliance French Bordeaux Aquitaine organized for us trips to historical places and villages near Bordeaux.
We tasted different French Cheese kinds and learned about each one’s history and name. Moreover, we had a tour in Garonne River and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Also, we watched the Atlantic Ocean from the top of the highest mountain there.
I lived there with a host family with whom I had good time. I learned so much from them and they have also helped me improve my language.
In my class, I had the chance to talk about Palestine and the Palestinian–Israeli conflict.
This trip made me realize that if you can dream it, you can do it. Finally, I would like to thank our French Department and all of its tutors for letting me live this experience.
